작업을 해서 그 결과물을 밖에 내보이고 싶다는 마음은 어디서 오는 걸까요? 보시는 분에 따라 그림이 조금 슬프다고 하시기도 하고, 귀엽고 희망적이라고 이야기해 주시기도 합니다. 제 속에서 무언가를 꺼내 작품을 만들고 나면, 그 결과물의 의미는 제게 있는 것이 아니라 마주하는 사람들에게서 생성된다는 것을 새삼 느낍니다. 받은 감동과 감사함은 크지만, 막상 전시 내내 신나서 깔깔거리며 웃기 바빴던 것 같아요.
상반기에는 되도록 많은 전시로 찾아뵈려고 합니다. 아직 아이디어에 손이 못 따라가는 이제 막 시작하는 신진으로서의 기쁨을 느끼고 있습니다. 다들 감사합니다. 또 뵐 수 있기를 바라요 :)
Where does the urge come from to make work and put it out into the world? Some viewers find my paintings a little sad, while others describe them as cute and hopeful. Once I bring something out from within myself and turn it into a piece, I’m reminded that its meaning no longer belongs to me but is created by those who encounter it. I feel deeply grateful for the responses I received, though honestly I spent most of the exhibition laughing and enjoying the moment.
In the first half of the year, I hope to meet you through as many exhibitions as possible. As an emerging artist just getting started, I’m enjoying that phase where my ideas still outpace my hands. Thank you all, and I hope to see you again soon :)
